Are you looking for
illness or
Accident in your
Movement
restricted?
Professional physiotherapy aims to restore your mobility or simply ensure you stay fit and healthy. With the right treatment, most cases experience rapid relief, improved mobility, and even freedom from pain and overall well-being. I offer a structured, individualized therapy plan tailored to your specific needs and medical diagnosis. This is based on sound expertise in orthopedics and neurology, as well as many years of professional experience.
Orthopedic diseases
Sports injuries
Examples include muscle fiber tears, sprains or strains caused by insufficient breaks between training sessions, lack of warm-up phases or inadequate equipment.
Fractures
Accidents in everyday life or sports often lead to partial or complete fractures. Physiotherapy treatment aims to restore mobility.
Meniscus damage
Uncontrolled twisting movements of the bent knee joint, an external impact, or sudden extension of the knee joint can occur, potentially affecting the outer and/or inner meniscus.
Herniated discs
The spine is affected when parts of the intervertebral disc protrude into the spinal canal, which houses the spinal cord. This is often caused by degenerative changes in the intervertebral discs, vertebral bodies, facet joints, muscles, or ligaments.
Knee and hip end replacements
If you have had artificial prostheses implanted in your knee or hip, for example after severe osteoarthritis, physiotherapy treatment is recommended so that you have good long-term prospects for your everyday life.
Shoulder end prostheses
Shoulder prostheses are used after repeated injuries to the shoulder joint, such as dislocations from the glenoid cavity during sports or household activities. Degenerative processes with increasing age, leading to osteoarthritis (omarthrosis), fractures of the humeral head, and loss of articular cartilage due to circulatory disorders can also be reasons for shoulder replacement. Individualized physiotherapy can help you improve your mobility.
Neurological diseases
Parkinson
A slowly progressive loss of dopamine-producing nerve cells, which can lead to movement disorders such as muscle rigidity (rigor), slowed movements (bradykinesia or hypokinesia), muscle tremors (tremor) and postural instability.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) or encephalomyelitis disseminita (ED)
A chronic inflammatory neurological disease in which the body's own structures in the central nervous system are attacked, often resulting in sensory disturbances in the arms and legs, visual disturbances and disturbances of muscle function, such as weakness, paralysis, muscle stiffness, balance and coordination disorders.
stroke
Sudden insufficient blood supply to a region of the brain. This can cause various symptoms, such as drooping corners of the mouth, speech and vision problems, paralysis, usually one-sided numbness, dizziness, and gait disturbances.
Polyneuropathy
Polyneuropathy is a general term for certain diseases of the peripheral nervous system, meaning that a part of the nervous system is impaired in its function. Pain or abnormal sensations occur in the feet, legs, hands, or arms. The following diseases can trigger polyneuropathy:
Diabetes mellitus, kidney diseases, vascular diseases, alcoholism and poisonings.
Brain hemorrhage
A brain hemorrhage occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures. This bleeding can be intra- or extracerebral. One of the most common causes is high blood pressure (hypertension). Accidents involving head trauma, alcohol poisoning, obesity, or a sac-like dilation of an artery (aneurysm) can also lead to a brain hemorrhage.
Traumatic brain injury
A brain injury caused by an accident or fall with the following symptoms: headache, dizziness, visual disturbances, memory gaps, nausea, vomiting, loss of consciousness.
Epilepsy
The term does not describe a disease, but rather the consequence of various brain disorders. A characteristic feature is an increased susceptibility to epileptic seizures. These vary considerably; some last only a few seconds and manifest as slight muscle twitching or brief absences (absence seizures). Others last one to two minutes. Further characteristics include loss of consciousness, convulsions, and...
uncontrollable twitching.
Headache
There are over 200 different types of headaches, the most common of which are tension headaches. These are dull and occur in the back of the head and neck. A tension headache can last from half an hour to a week.
Migraine
A migraine attack begins gradually, is usually one-sided, and typically lasts from 4 to 72 hours. Migraines cause throbbing, moderate to severe headaches. Accompanying symptoms include nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to noise or light, and often visual disturbances such as flashing lights or squint.
brain tumor
A type of cancer that affects men more often than women. Tumor cells, as metastases from other tumors, travel through the cerebrospinal fluid to the brain and settle there. This manifests as increased intracranial pressure, epileptic seizures, neurological deficits, personality changes, severe and unusual headaches, dizziness, paralysis, and nausea with vomiting.
Physiotherapy services
Please note:
All physiotherapy treatments are based on the findings of your specialist in general medicine, orthopedics, or neurology!
General physiotherapy
It aims to restore natural, physiological bodily functions in joints, muscles, or the spine that have been disrupted by pain, accidents, or unclear origins. Instructions are given for exercises that can be active, passive, or a combination of both.
Physical therapy and equipment
Based on current training principles, the therapy is individually tailored to your specific complaints. Each session consists of an active, one-hour therapy session. Some therapeutic effects include: improved muscle function, taking into account the associated joint and connective tissue; improved muscle structure in cases of structural damage; and the automatization of functional movement patterns. You will have my full attention and support throughout the session.
Kinesio-Tape
Developed by the Japanese chiropractor and kinesiologist Dr. Kenzo Kase, this method utilizes an elastic, self-adhesive, therapeutic tape applied to the skin using various taping techniques. This creates positive sensory feedback within the body. The goal is to maintain full freedom of movement for the skin, joints, and muscles, thereby activating the body's natural healing mechanisms. Taping is used in many areas of competitive sports for prevention and rehabilitation, as well as in medicine and physiotherapy.
Manual lymphatic drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a treatment method in physiotherapy designed to improve the transport capacity of the lymphatic system. This facilitates the removal of edema, for example, after breast cancer surgery, sports injuries, or lymphatic damage. Treatment duration can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on the doctor's prescription.
Krankengymnastik nach Bobath
The Bobath Method was developed more than 50 years ago by Bertha and Karel Bobath. This treatment aids in the rehabilitation of patients with diseases of the central nervous system. It addresses functional and movement disorders, as well as postural deficits resulting from lesions in the central nervous system. The most important component of the therapy is a comprehensive assessment and the subsequent systematic development of a treatment plan. This can include movement components, influencing specific factors for performing normal activities, facilitation, gait analysis, or gait training.
Classic massage
It promotes well-being, relieves pain, and is a natural method for promoting and maintaining health. It helps with tension in the back, shoulders, neck, and legs, as well as headaches, menstrual cramps, and sleep disorders, and helps reduce stress. The massage incorporates various massage techniques.
Atemtherapie
It consists of various techniques that make breathing easier for the patient. Conscious awareness of your respiratory muscles and posture is important for you. Recommended, for example, in cases of respiratory dysfunction, shortness of breath, or coughing with phlegm.
Foot reflexology massage
A reflex is an automatic reaction of the central nervous system to a nerve stimulus. When pressure is applied to the foot, for example to the reflex zone associated with the stomach, this stimulus is transmitted via neural connections in the spinal cord. Reflex zones are therefore areas that are connected to distant parts of the body through nerve relay in the spinal cord. Reflex zones exist all over the body – on the back, hands, feet, and ears (acupuncture points).
Relaxation therapy
Massage is a treatment method for relieving muscular tension and cramps, among other things through massage. It also helps to eliminate psychologically induced physical tension.
Physiotherapy based on neurophysiological principles
It is suitable for patients suffering from diseases of the central nervous system. This includes conditions originating from the brain, spinal cord, or spinal canal, but also peripheral paralysis or muscle changes.
Fascia treatment
(Myofascial Release): Fascia, as a component of connective tissue, is the tissue that envelops and permeates the body as a connecting network of tension. It refers to the skin that stretches around muscles and muscle groups, organs, and the vascular and nervous systems. Fascia provides elasticity, load-bearing capacity, body awareness, and smooth force transmission. When it becomes adhered, this triggers pain. Lack of movement promotes fascial adhesions and/or intensifies tension. Therefore, you should not avoid movement when experiencing pain, as this will only worsen the symptoms. For this reason, movement is both a treatment,
as well as a preventive measure.
Sports physiotherapy
As part of physiotherapy, it includes, among other things, the treatment and care of athletes in prevention and after-injury treatment, as well as subsequent rehabilitation. Close collaboration with sports medicine specialists is of paramount importance in this regard.
